This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you visit our website, sign up for our newsletter, or book onto our educational courses.

For the purposes of UK data protection laws, the Data Controller is Lisa Langford, founder of LadyB Creative Academy.

1. THE DATA WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU
Personal data means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. We may collect, use, store, and transfer different kinds of personal data about you, which we have grouped together as follows:

  • Identity Data: This includes your first name, last name, and professional titles where applicable.

  • Contact Data: This includes your email address, billing address, and telephone number.

  • Professional Data: For our training pillar, this may include your salon name, freelance status, or proof of hairdressing qualifications.

  • Transaction Data: This includes details about payments to us and other details of courses, masterclasses, or workshops you have purchased from us.

  • Technical Data: This includes your internet protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, and browser plug-in types and versions used to access our website.

2. HOW YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS COLLECTED
We use different methods to collect data from and about you, including through:

  • Direct Interactions: You give us your Identity, Contact, and Professional Data by filling in forms on our website (such as our course enquiry form or newsletter signup form), corresponding with us by email, or booking a course.

  • Automated Technologies: As you interact with our website, we may automatically collect Technical Data about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns using cookies and similar technologies.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  • To Register You as a Student: Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you for an academy course or workshop.

  • To Deliver Brand Communications: Where you have explicitly opted in via our signup forms to receive updates, academy announcements, and course news.

  • Legitimate Interests: Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests to study how customers use our services, to develop them, and to grow our business.

You have the right to withdraw your consent to marketing communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send, or by contacting us directly at lisa@ladybca.com.

4. DATA DISCLOSURES AND THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS
We do not sell your data to third parties. To run our creative hub efficiently, we share your data with trusted service providers who act as data processors:

  • Wix Services: As our website hosting provider, Wix is used to securely process form submissions, manage database elements, and handle automated site notifications.

  • Payment Gateways: Secure third-party payment processors used to handle transactions for course and workshop bookings.

  • Salon Bookings Note: Please note that all salon appointments are managed externally via the Jena booking platform, which operates under its own independent privacy policy.

5. DATA SECURITY
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used, or accessed in an unauthorised way. We limit access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties who have a business need to know.

6. DATA RETENTION
We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.
For marketing subscriptions, we will retain your data until you choose to unsubscribe. For course bookings, we retain student transaction records to comply with UK financial laws.
